February: Tips & Tricks from deVivre Concierge
We've been having a pretty mild winter here in NYC which makes you lucky if you're hoping for a vacation but can't afford to get away. Here are deVivre Concierge's Tips & Tricks for your perfect staycation.
And if you need a little help with planning the perfect itinerary, we have plenty of tricks up our sleeves!
Accommodations: If you really want to treat yourself, get a place to stay! Some hotels have staycation deals, like the new Williamsburg hotel The William Vale. Our friends also love booking via Gilt Travel and Jetsetter to find great deals for luxe hotels like Plaza Athenee and The Marlton.
What to See: If you can't make it to Japan, don't worry, you can still see the Cherry Blossoms by visiting The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for their annual Sakura Matsuri Festival. Keep an eye via their Cherry Watch! Want to see more flowers? Check out my top pick - the New York Botanical Garden's Orchid Show: Thailand. Flowers not your thing? See the world instead through the films chosen for the Tribeca Film Festival; Ticket packages can be purchased on Monday!
Get Out of Town: Is staying in the city not cutting it? Get outta town, on the cheap! Take the train to Irvington and enjoy a quiet stay at the Tarrytown House Estate. Usually buzzing with wedding parties and conferences in the summer, the Estate is quiet and serene in the winter, with deals abound. Take advantage of their indoor pool, squash court, game room, and the beautiful gardens. If you want to do something adventurous, head to Hunter Mountain to enjoy Ladies Day, some snow tubing, and their Outdoor Irish Party! Grab a group of friends and stay in one of the many homes on AirBNB that have great perks for winter tourists like hot tubs & saunas, fire pits & fireplaces, and even an indoor pool.
