WELCOME to our monthly rundown of some of the coolest events happening in NYC! Each month we will trawl the interwebs, to bring you some of the more unique and New Yorky goings-on about town. Here are our top picks for June:
Sights:
Shakespeare in the Park: One of the most wonderful AND FREE events to bless us New Yorkers every year is the free Shakespeare at Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Our top tip is to go to The Public Theater (or ask deVivre to go on your behalf) just before noon each day there is a performance, to have the highest chance of winning the lottery. The Taming of the Shrew is playing now through Jun 26th and then Troilus and Cressida is running Jul 19th - Aug 14th.
Sounds:
Prospect Park Bandshell: Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. You know Summer in the City has really begun once this season gets going. Opening night is Sharon Jones on June 8th. This is traditionally a very popular event, so get there nice and early if you want to guarantee entry. Check out the full season calendar here.

Adventures NYC at Central Park: Yet another amazing free event this month at the Central Park bandshell. On Sat, 18th Jun between 11am-4pm you can try your hand at a multitude of outdoor activities like Rockclimbing, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Yoga and much more. Enter at 72nd Street for the quickest route to the fun.

Figment NYC: This weekend (Fri 3rd-Sun 5th 10am-5pm) take the ferry to Governors Island for the 10th installment of this festival. The website describes figment as "a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one weekend each summer, it transforms Governors Island into a large-scale collaborative artwork - and then it's gone."
Now get out there and live your best life!
